Mosquito Prevention Information

Mosquitoes lay up to 250 eggs at a time in still water, which will hatch in 7 to 15 days. During the off season, mosquitoes can lay dormant for up to one year. If standing water is eliminated weekly, many mosquitoes will be kept from breeding in the first place. So if you are anti-mosquito, then start by getting rid of these breeding grounds in your yard.

A Reminder for Residents

If you intend to leave your premises for some extended time period (less than 180 continuous days in duration), the City will continue to charge you the bi-monthly water and sewer utility base rate in your absence. If you intend to leave your premises for an extended period of time [more than 180 continuous days] you may request the City shut off your water meter during this time period. The City will charge you a $60 turn-on fee but you will not be subject to the monthly base water and sewer rate during that time frame.
