Fall is officially here and the leaves are already changing colors. In addition to the seasonal changes, I’m happy to report our City Council is back to full strength with the appointment of Patience Udall to fill Position 4. Patience is a self-employed business owner and has served our city through volunteering with Gorge Days. Please join me in welcoming her to our Council and congratulate her the next time you see her at the post office or around town.
Other recent activity around town includes the paving of Coyote Ridge Road in the Cascade Business Park, fresh paint on our city streets and the continuing work on Hamilton Creek by the Lower Columbia Fish Enhancement Group. All in all, a hectic summer has come to a close but the work continues.
One of the biggest items we’re working on here at City Hall is the 2013 Budget. Budgeting usually presents many challenges and this year is certainly no exception. We have discussed some items at the past few Council meetings and will continue to work towards a final version at upcoming meetings. If you want to have your voice heard, or just see the process in action, we invite you to attend an upcoming meeting.
Our next meeting will also include continuing discussion regarding adoption of a Water System Plan.We had some good comments from concerned residents at our last meeting and are carrying the conversation over to our next meeting on Tuesday, October 9th in order to afford more opportunities for your input. Our little government works best when many ideas come together so please join us and add your thoughts to the discussion.
As always, your input and ideas regarding budgeting and all other aspects of our city are welcome. You can reach me at 427-8182 or via don [at] northbonnville.net (subject: A%20message%20from%20NorthBonneville.net) (email).
