From the Mayor's Desk - September 2016
As we move forward with the repaving project on Evergreen Drive, one of the next steps will be replacing the section of the old transite water main where it crosses under that section of the road.
Unfortunately, it will be necessary to shut off our city water supply on September 19th in order to replace that section of pipe. We anticipate the water will be shut off for a substantial portion of the day and want to make sure everyone in North Bonneville has enough advance notice to prepare for this water outage.
Once water service is restored, there is a good chance we will need to boil our water until we are able to ensure the system has been purged of any potential contaminants. We will be utilizing a pressure sustaining valve that is designed to keep as much of the water system pressurized to minimize any back flow, but we will be erring on the side of caution in order to prevent any waterborne pathogenic microorganisms from causing any illness for our residents.
Once the water main is replaced, the grinding and paving process will begin in earnest. Our plan is to have Evergreen Drive repaved from Highway 14 to the green bridge over Hamilton Creek by the end of September. During the paving we will do our best to keep one lane open at all times. We ask for your patience during this project and suggest those who live on the north side of Highway 14 use alternate routes whenever possible.
