From the Mayor's Desk - July 2016

By the time this newsletter gets published Gorge Days will be just a few days away. The weather was supposed to be nice and sunny but it’s starting to look like we may get some rain this year. I hope it won’t be enough to dampen anybody’s spirits or keep anybody away.

Looking past Gorge Days, the next big event in town will be the ColorDash 5K. We rescheduled the run in hopes of better weather and a little more time to get the word out. This is where you come in, helping us spread the word. You can suggest your family and friends can get more information and sign up online at www.cd5k.com. We will still need volunteers and will be happy to have your help. You can contact Casey or Angie at the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce, 427-8911, to run, volunteer or donate prizes for the raffle. Our city will get half the proceeds from the run and plan to use those funds to improve our playground.

In other news, our Public Works Team has been trimming trees, bushes and other flora that has grown enough to obscure some of our stop signs along with other traffic control signs throughout our city. They keep an eye out during their daily travels around North Bonneville, but we would appreciate the help of all our residents to make sure our signs are easy to see. If you notice a traffic sign around town that is becoming harder to see due to the growth of trees or other plants, or is obscured for any other reason, please call us at City Hall or send us an email and we will take care of it as quickly as we can.

Our community works best when we all keep an eye out for each other. Please help us maintain and improve all the things that make North Bonneville the best place to live in the Gorge. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, please contact me in person, via the phone at 427-8182, or by email.
