From the Mayor's Desk - June 2015

As we move closer to summer, our City Council is making a change to their meeting schedule for the next few months. Instead of the regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, we are going to hold workshops at the first meeting of June, July and August in order to have more time to discuss topics and ideas relating to our community.

The public is still welcome to attend these workshops and we will provide ample time for all interested parties to share their ideas and engage in the conversations as we work through a number of projects and strategies to improve our city.

Among other things we’ll be doing at the workshop on June 9, 2015, we will be presenting our 2014 Citizen of the Year to Norman Dillard. Norm is frequently seen all around town, either on his bike or on foot. He picks up litter, cleans up messy areas and reports any issues he sees while making his rounds throughout North Bonneville. Please join us in celebrating Norm’s ongoing contributions to our city by either attending the workshop on June 9th to applaud his award or by thanking him in person the next time you see him around town.

We’re also getting closer to Gorge Days, which will happen this year on Friday, July 10th and Saturday, July 11th, with the car show, city wide garage sale, delicious food and craft vendors, and all the other things that make it our biggest celebration of the year. If you’d like to help out this year or just learn more about it you can follow the Gorge Days page on Facebook at You can always call us at City Hall or contact the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce at 427-8911.
