From the Mayor's Desk - January 2017

Happy New Year and welcome to 2017. I’m excited about the upcoming year for many reasons, including more repairs to our aging streets, getting closer to paying off our fire truck and my last year as mayor.

While it’s been very rewarding serving as mayor for the past 7 years, I am not a believer in career politicians and by the end of this year I will have served over 10 years between my time as a City Councilor and Mayor, which is far more than I ever thought I would.

From the Mayor's Desk - December 2016

December is here and another year is nearing its end. While we celebrated Thanksgiving last month, we recently received some news that ratchets our level of thankfulness up another notch. The Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Council notified us that our grant application in the amount of $800,0022 to continue resurfacing two of our main arterial streets, Evergreen Drive and Cascade Drive, has been approved. These two sections of our streets have been in need of repair for some time, but we have not been financially able to afford the costs on our own.

From the Mayor's Desk - November 2016

As we move into November, there are a couple happy announcements to share.

The first is the welcome return of Turkey Bingo! Our volunteer fire department will be hosting an evening of fun at the fire hall on Thursday, November 17th. The doors will open for early seating at 6:30pm with bingo commencing at 7:00. There will be hot dogs, chips, popcorn and drinks along with a silent dessert auction and the opportunity to donate nonperishable food donations for holiday gift baskets. We hope to see you there.

From the Mayor's Desk - September 2016

As we move forward with the repaving project on Evergreen Drive, one of the next steps will be replacing the section of the old transite water main where it crosses under that section of the road.

Unfortunately, it will be necessary to shut off our city water supply on September 19th in order to replace that section of pipe. We anticipate the water will be shut off for a substantial portion of the day and want to make sure everyone in North Bonneville has enough advance notice to prepare for this water outage.
